A go route the optimum placement is over outside shoulder on the go. No high
point opportunity. Sometimes a high-point is necessary. It is not optimum on a fly route.

We all thought Tanner Mangum would be a star....then reality hit.

Ben might have been great at BYU but he didn't give it a chance...

No, not even a good QB at UCLA

Tanner and Jake would have both been NFL QB’s had Anae stayed

The WRs his Frosh year were quite mediocre. The most talented one was Juergens,

Mediocre? No they weren't

I wish Fesi had been here to develop Matthews — cuz his ball skillz stunk.

As much as I like Tanner, this is also silly. Mathews was great. Juergens was

Couldn't disagree more. Matthews had poor WR skills even by HS standards. Dude

Do you even watch? Off the top of my head against USU in 15 and Cal in 14 I

Ha! He was TERRIBLE at high-pointing an overhead pass. On a sideline route

He is the main reason the "jump-ball" narrative exists. I keep thinking you will

Yeah. He was 6’6 & jumped outa the gym.

He rarely got the chance to high-point on a fly route. A fly route is not

For MM nothing over-the-shoulder was optimum. He sucked fielding

He did not get a lot of them, but I just pointed out at least a few where he did

So the fact that he almost had 1000 yards as a Junior and led the team in

Kid was a great athlete & a very big target. We had few WR options

He was, in FACT, a GOOD receiver. We missed him desperately in 2016 (Taysom

It looks like Taysom, Tanner, and Christian Stewart couldn't even convince you

Each of them liked that OPTION so much they would say he was a GOOD receiver

Unfortunately, at 6'6, with a Sub 11 100 — & the NFL still said otherwise.

His 2000 receiving yards say he was good. As do his 3 QBs that loved throwing to

There were a few, but 3,300 yds is a LOT of jump balls

I really like Burton. He's got drive and a great coach in A-rod.
