BYU reports tickets sold. 1995-96 maintained excellent season ticket sales after several 20+ win seasons. There really were not 20K+ per game to watch that 15-13 (9-9 in conference) team, but attendance was still very strong relative to today's standards with Rose's exciting brand of play. Everything completely cratered in 1996 when Burgess said no and BYU couldn't beat anybody. Ticket sales don't tell the story, but 1997-98 does when those season tickets were not renewed.
The only time the Marriott Center has felt like it did in the early 90s was Jimmer's senior season. But even Rose hasn't been able to create the excitement over basketball that existed from the day the Marriott Center doors opened until the day Reid was fired. I don't think we will ever see that again.
