From 1972 to 1997 BYU never finished outside the top 10 in basketball attendance.

Since 1997, BYU has only had one top 10 finish in attendance which was Jimmer's senior season.
During Reid's time, BYU finished 5, 6, 5, 3, 6, 5, 6, and 7 in attendance.
You can choose to not like Reid and his coaching style, but you can't say that attendance went down during his time.
Also, despite the "fun style" that Rose coaches, BYU has not seen some huge jump in attendance compared to what it was before the 1-25 disaster.
Finally, if you choose to not like Mendenhall for whatever reason or believe that he should no longer be BYU's coach that is fine, but come up with a better narrative than boring playing style and attendance figures.
