...for them. In his tenure he coached against maybe the best Ute basketball coach of all time and got the better of him. Head-to-head he went 8-7 vs Rick and was also 3-0 vs him in the WAC tourney. Overall he was 9-9 vs Utah while he was at BYU. Several of his players have commented that he made it a priority to beat Utah and they said it was readily obvious to the whole team and they followed his lead. He spent noticeably more time in preparing for Utah than any other opponent on the schedule.

During the rest of his time at Utah, Rick Majerus totally owned BYU and laughed at us while he dominated. Reid upheld the school's dignity and honor during his time and earned the respect and admiration of both Majerus and Chris Hill after he was canned. Rick and Roger actually became friends afterwards. Rick would always leave tickets for Roger at the Will Call window for all yewt home games after that as an open invitation and show of respect.
