You seem to be going about it backwards . . .
Most people go into federal prosecution/AUSA positions out of law school because of the real world trial experience offered, which is then marketed to biglaw later down the road for a more lucrative position. Why are you contemplating doing the reverse? Financially, it's a much tougher jump from biglaw into gov't employment because of the disparate income.
