The company I'm with provides social media service for a number of MLM companies because they want to control the messaging and not allow their distributors to go crazy with product claims.
The FDAs recent action toward doTERRA and Young Living had more to do with info being spread via social media by distributors than claims being made by the company as a whole. We are in a huge cleanup phase with a couple of organizations and trying to get rid of information that the FDA has deemed non-compliant. There have been distributors that have lost their standing in these MLMs because of their actions and the fines levied against the company.
