or another in just about every commercial out there. MLMs are no different. Watch an infomercial about any exercise equipment out there. You have attractive people in spandex making huge claims of success that can only be had with drastic diet changes and hug investments of time at the gym, and all they have to say "work out for only 10min a day... results not typical".
From your first post, you understand the pyramid levels so clearly it is no secret, you don't have to be on top to benefit you just can't be on the bottom and expect to make the big money they talk about. Would I get involved in one... not a chance. Does it somewhat prey on those that are unaware... probably. Do the unaware get completely screwed... not if they have any interest in the product. Truth is, if they did not benefit a large number of people... they would not exist. That is a fact.
I'd say it's more ethical than selling crap like clothes for dogs, rental car insurance from Hertz, most any product warranty, or a realtor collecting 3% on a house that all they did to sell was post the listing on MLS.... sheesh, I could go on for a while if you want to talk about businesses that are arguably less ethical than MLMs.
