I am actually referring to exactly what the MLM concept is. It may be/have been twisted at times by Companies and/or Distributors to something that did not ultimately lead to consumers buying a product, but that is not the inherent purpose of an MLM. An MLM is intended as an alternative marketing method used to increase purchase and use of a set of products. Good MLMs have products that people actually want to purchase and use, otherwise it is impossible to sustain any kind of business. Are there companies that ignore the need for a viable product, absolutely. I would argue that the same thing occurs in any business model. I am not arguing that there are no MLM companies or distributors that are unethical. I am arguing that it is not inherent to the concept, and it is possible to be part of an MLM without being unethical.
