I will say that the game also makes a difference. I was at the 2004 game at RES
and while it was a close for the first half, it was a Ute blowout in the 2nd and the fans were too happy to be busting the BCS to really care about giving BYU fans a hard time. My brother was at 2006 and didn't have any problems. I do think that since that time, the vitriol has gotten worse and I do believe some of the stories that I have heard.

But, again I don't think one can judge entire fan bases on the bad acts of a small minority. Most Ute fans are good people. Most BYU fans are good people. Most people in the world are good people. The few bad ones make us all look much worse then we actually are.
