Honest question to all of this.
I wonder if other fan bases have such a wide variability of the type of fans. I've never been able to attend a rivalry game (bucket list) but you read the comments on here, media, and what not it honestly appears that both side could be correct. There is, without a doubt, good natured fans of the U who love the team, sports, school, etc. and know how to handle themselves with class. I say without a doubt as I've had extended family and good friends attend there and they are great to banter with and I'm sure conduct themselves with absolute class at games they may attend.

But you read posts like this, the KSL story from many years ago, the SI article, etc and there also seems to be a good mount of both actual and circumstantial evidence to say the Ute fan base has a large portion (not saying greater than half, but enough to be very noticable) of fans who flat out stink (issue not related to lack of toilet facilities:)) and have extremely poor character when it comes to being at a sporting contest. Every fan base has these idiots, but it seems the rivalry/culture of Utah is such that it brings out a wider range of "fans" for Ute contests.

The only way to ever settle this is to have a bunch of fans from both sides where the opponents jersey, sit in a bunch of different sections of the stadium, and document their experiences. It would be cool to do this at other rivalries as well,(the Apple Cup, Civil War, Iron Bowl, etc.) to really see just how accurate fan bases judge, and police, themselves.
