Where have you been?
There is nothing stagnant about BYU's football program. Many improvements have been made all along. Every single year things change, that's the nature of the thing. How could you possibly not notice, recognize and applaud the improvements?
This has been a great year. Not a "Special" year, as in making it to a NY bowl or winning the NC. But still very successful. Most teams would love to have the program we have.
The accomplishments of this team should be appreciated by the fans. It's not productive to rip your own coaches and players.

I don't think you can use the "before the season" example because after week one, we saw glimpses of what could be.
