I've tried to say it many ways and acknowledge I'm not saying it very well, so I'll try it this way:

If you (generic "you", not specific "you" Dagny), DEMAND caffeinated drinks at LES, but you are thirsty so you buy a non-caffeinated soft drink - BYU will not recognize you as part of a demand for caffeinated drinks.

If you (again, generic), DEMAND caffeinated drinks at LES, but you are thirst so you buy a water - BYU will not recognize you as part of a demand for caffeinated drinks.

If you (generic) DEMAND caffeinated drinks at LES, but you are thirsty, so you wait in line for free water from the drinking fountains - BYU will not recognize you as part of a demand for caffeinated drinks.

If several hundred (better yet a few thousand) of you (generic, but not specific) DEMAND caffeinated drinks at BYU, and you are thirsty, unless you all wait in line for free water from the drinking fountains - only then will BYU start to recognize a demand for caffeinated drinks, but only if you and most of those of similar thought let BYU know that you want caffeinated drinks and that you will not buy ANY drinks until they offer the choice of caffeinated drinks.

You've got to hit the BYU concessions folks between their eyes and in their wallets before you'll even get their attention with your demands/request. But further word of advice, keep any correspondence or discussion with them friendly and civil. Nothing pisses off a BYU manager more than someone being recalcitrant, thereby calling into question that employee's "inspiration" (I doubt there are many BYU employees who don't pray that they will be led in their work - they thereby make the assumption that every decision they make with their head is somehow inspired from heaven). If you piss them off, they'll just think you're of the devil and they'll dig their heals in even further.
