But there is an unmistakable theme in the article that suggests Jamaal was a prisoner at BYU and that the idea that someone should be expected to abstain from sex and alcohol is a terrible thing. Some snippets just from the first part:

"In spite of it all, he became the school's all-time leading rusher."
In spite of the stares he received and being forced to not drink or have sex... Oh the horror!
