dollars of tithing money in subsidized education of a quality he could not have gotten at the U of U but can't actually bring himself to acknowledge how grateful he should be to such an amazing institution that his kids would be incredibly lucky to get into. I'd guess it stems from some pathetic sense of childish spite.
