you had some points and my interest until you said "like Notre Dame...." I was raised Catholic all my life, my entire family, friends, and relatives are catholic, I wore ND clothing daily. My mother is the Dean of students at a catholic college and a lay minister.... Before my Mission I visited the campus many times and almost chose it over my eventual alma mater (BYU). There are some avid ND fans as I was, but..! TRUST ME there are many more catholics that do not follow or care about ND sports than LDS memmbers that do not care the same way in regards to BYU.

Padowan..., Grasshopper..., I love your enthusiasm. You want to convert everyone! "I know my Cougars are true." I'm a sports fool! ...a former walk on that road the bench cheering on Sean Covey and Ty Detmer from the sidelines.... and even I know the purpose of the church isn't even close to XI. "Thou shalt fill the stands across the land for the lord's anointed school."

There are simply just all kinds of people out there. Some just do not do sports, at all. They have other interests, redeeming qualities....
