Mid-level BCS teams with a BYU-like ESPN contact?
The fact that all content is not created equal is actually my point. Texas vs USC will pull a bigger audience than BYU vs. Texas every time. Likewise, my guess is that each BYU game broadcast will pull bigger audiences and command higher advertizing premiums than each Sun Belt game broadcast.

To your assertion that any mid-level BCS team could follow suit, do you really believe that we can expect even one Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State or Texas Tech to craft a separate-from-the-Big-XII deal with ESPN similar to BYU's... where nine of their games are broadcast in one year (and their non-existent school network has re-broadcast rights)? Even for Texas and Oklahoma, ESPN is not going to pay twice for content they've already secured via the Big XII contract. By virtue of the fact that they are in BCS conferences, all BCS teams are already bound and covered by media contracts, so (at least for the duration of the current contracts) not even one of them is in a legal position to craft a single-school broadcast contract like BYU has done.
