Completely disagree. Utah is playing out its hand as though
it holds all the winning cards. But, BYU will be "all in" at the end, and it may not go as Utah thought it would. I'm fine with taking a break from the "Holy War" (which is a joke of a name for it). If Utah doesn't want to do it, then fine, let it go. I like the rivalry, but it's not fun in September and if Utah wants to drop it, BYU just needs to replace it with another school interested in stepping in, like Boise State (which, incidentally, kicks Utah's butt at every turn).

Utah only "has the upper hand" if BYU gives it to them. I don't think BYU will do that. It will move on and will welcome the rivalry back if/when that happens. Until then, BYU will go on with its course. Utah is the one who left BYU behind, looking out for number one. BYU would not have been the one to bolt first from their pact to stay together. So, that freed up BYU to go independent . . . which I think will turn out to be a great thing for BYU. It is far better than the MWC, and I am not convinced BYU has ever had a legitimate shot at the Big XII, to date. So, let Utah have its day. Who cares?
