By conference crap i mean, that, we don't have to deal with TV rights crap, we can pick our own schedule, and we can make all decisions Independent of a conferences demands. And what does a conference give you, almost nothing, the one big thing they USED to give you (and only if you were in a BCS conference) was get AQ status, AQ status in now GONE, there is no BCS anymore. And as to your crappy games in November comment, everybody plays crap teams, some do it early some do it late, we have chosen to do it late, but who cares when we do it. Especially because even though we have some crap teams, we also have enough quality games to beat out the Utes schedule. And because we are independent, we aren't forced to play any crap team that is in our conference, so we could get rid of all our crap teams. Just because we haven't get rid of all crap teams on our schedule doesn't mean we can't. And as a stated earlier because AQ is gone, all that matters is playing good teams and winning, NOT being in a (now defunct) BCS conference. The basis of my point is, that if we win our games, and Utah wins there games(let's just say that the BYU vs Utah game is a draw) then we NOT Utah will be higher in the rankings.
