No way of knowing that. But Lillard was the 6th overall pick out of Weber.
The NBA will find the players that belong in the NBA. And with Jackson, he would have been better to play another year in college.

Should we be worried that Bryant might leave after this year?
Dangerous
1/12/18 7:55am
Only if he served a mission overseas.
Ocho Cuatro
1/12/18 7:56am
You can laugh, but rarely have we had this type of production out of a player
Dangerous
1/12/18 7:59am
Sorry, I just don't see it. Not as an NBA prospect. Not yet.
Indy Coug
1/12/18 8:04am
Maybe after next year. This year, no chance.
Ocho Cuatro
1/12/18 8:57am
He’s a little young to be a senior couple missionary eh?
Cougforgood
1/12/18 7:59am
He might leave as a graduate transfer after this year

I don't think so. He seems really loyal to BYU. His twitter says he'll
Dangerous
1/12/18 8:08am
If he wants to go the NBA, he'd be smart to leave to a program that can
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 8:09am
That is a patently ridiculous statement.
Indy Coug
1/12/18 8:15am
Is it? BYU barely puts players in the NBA. Ever. It's just not something
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 8:20am
That's not a function of BYU's conference standing, it's a function of the players on the team
Indy Coug
1/12/18 8:23am
It's both, Indy. If Elijah was the 6th man on a good P5 team he'd be much more
Ocho Cuatro
1/12/18 8:59am
You think 6th men on good P5 teams are better prospects than the leading scorer
Broda
1/12/18 9:24am
Kentucky gets what, 4 or 5 kids drafted every year? So yes, I do think that's
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 10:09am
Gonzaga's 6th man was a lottery pick.

Not sure that supports your point. Gonzaga’s sixth man last year
AC_Coug
1/12/18 1:50pm
You think he would be the sixth man on Kentucky?
Archaea
1/12/18 10:17am
He wouldn't even be the 15th.
Belboz
1/12/18 10:55am
Trey Lyles was the 6th man on Kentucky

1/12/18 10:13am
Guys, he said a good P5 team, not the elite of the elite. Not talking about the

1/12/18 11:44am
Don't lump BYU in with Gonzaga. No comparison.
Ocho Cuatro

Not likely.

If you have NBA talent the NBA will find you, wherever you play.

Bruno Caboclo is evidence that they will look everywhere for players.

dratax
1/12/18 8:31am
I’m sure the scouts are well aware of him.
wjman11
1/12/18 8:18am
That's not how NBA scouting works.
Crush4
1/12/18 8:21am
Show me any current mock drafts that have him or Yoeli mentioned. I'll wait.
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 8:22am
And why do you think they should be mentioned?
Indy Coug
1/12/18 8:23am
Which mock draft is out there that was prepared by NBA scouts?
wjman11
1/12/18 8:24am
I'm not talking about those two individually I'm talking about NBA scouting
Crush4
1/12/18 8:26am
I'm confident the scouts were well aware of Eric Mika and Brandon Davies as well
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 8:32am
Maybe it's because guys that have played at BYU just aren't NBA players?
RaggaeCoug
1/12/18 8:35am
So, Frank Jackson would've been a first round pick after 1 season had he
SlippinJimmie

No way of knowing that. But Lillard was the 6th overall pick out of Weber.
RaggaeCoug

It's not a direct translation, you're right. But look at BYU's history.
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 8:49am
It's the job of a scout to find talent wherever it is.

1/12/18 9:07am

The NBA makes top 3 picks of guys in the middle of freaking nowhere in Europe
Indy Coug
1/12/18 8:52am
Come on now....how would Trump have phrased that statement? 😃
ByuMba90
1/12/18 8:55am
Probably not. Given he wasn't a first round pick.
JuicyJam
1/12/18 8:58am
He was on the radar of scouts already.

1/12/18 9:05am

Belboz
1/12/18 10:39am
Why did Frank Jackson choose Duke over BYU?
SlippinJimmie
1/12/18 10:41am
A coach at BYU spent more years developing Jackson than any coach at Duke.
Belboz
1/12/18 10:43am
And that still wasn't good enough for him to stay at BYU. We aren't a program
SlippinJimmie

because of the coaches?
Belboz
1/12/18 10:52am
100% because of the coaches.

1/12/18 10:55am
Quincy Lewis spent more years with Frank Jackson than any coach at Duke

JuicyJam

That is absolutely false, just like like college football.
TheLoneCougar

Chicken or egg? Bama gets all 4 and 5*,which have higher draft potential. So it is still the player.

TheLoneCougar
1/16/18 7:12am
Do you think scouts only knew about Jackson because he went to Duke?

1/16/18 9:42am
Because they were at BYU. Point. Set. Match.

I'll take that as you conceding the point since you offered nothing up.
