...it was easy to see that he wasn’t all the way recovered from his lisfranc injury and physically/athletically wasn’t playing to his potential. He looked a step slow and didn’t have the explosiveness that made him hard to catch in the backfield. I remember watching a defensive lineman drag him down from behind when he left the pocket and tried to get to the sideline in the Toledo game. Taysom of old leaves that guy in his dust and gets to the edge on that defense. He struggled particularly in that game and finished with 6 carries for 3 yds.
There were a number of glaring examples that he was not 100% (In the Utah game trying to convert the 2 pt conversion, etc). Taysom of 2016 didn’t play like an NFL QB.
