football leads to better results, and I don't think there is any doubt that BYU plays undisciplined football and has for about three years. Look at Navy. They don't have athletes Alabama has, yet the play disciplined, competitive football. I only used Alabama as the example because Saban is one end of the extreme, and no one can doubt his success. Sure, his athletes are part of it (which is why I said disciplined football won't make us Alabama), but his coaching has a lot more to do with it because many coaches have done far worse with similar athletes. Saban didn't arrive at an Alabama full of four and five star athletes. His team was mediocre and he made them great over time. If BYU started playing disciplined football again and winning, I dare say our recruiting would pick up as well.
