not really fickle. its hard to support a team, take a bunch of saturdays and
spend time and money for a product that has zero national relevance. we didn't even sell out the rivalry game this year.
look at next year....i doubt there will be one sellout.
odd game times, games are meaningless because we aren't in a conference and have no hope of being a p5, and really nothing to play for. and the majority of home games are crappy opponents.
easy to see why the fanbase would choose to stay home and watch games that matter on tv.

You have to take the statement in context. The context is competing with P5 schools as an independent is not sustainable
