There is a misconception that living the teachings of Jesus Christ (LDS Religion) and Abiding by the Honor Code are one in the same. They are not. As stated many times on this board and in historical articles (https://www.dialoguejournal.com/wp-content/uploads/sbi/articles/Dialogue_V31N04_101.pdf) the honor code was established to differentiate the students at BYU from the norms of a secular world. Does it need be evaluated and changed, yes and it does on a yearly basis, but i never think we will see there being changes that will allow commandments be violated.
