I don't Indy has hurt recruiting so much as Utah being a decent P5.

Let's face it. We've lost a ton of good recruits to Utah the last decade. They are the biggest thorn in our side when it comes to recruiting. If Utah was terrible in a terrible conference, BYU would have a lock on all the Utah and LDS talent in the area.

I think BYU has been the #2 school for many recruits but Utah with their rise became the #1 choice.
