With my wife leaving the church because of various historical and current social issues I already feel out of place but stay active because I want my children to be raised with strong christian values and dont see the need to make a wholesale religious swap. The church still provides a spiritual safety net that I want my family to have access to. If BYU athletics disappears, that would be a huge loss in my mind as it is a important connection for me to a LDS community that I feel less and less attached to these days.
