I don't know about 90%. But, when I was in a YSA in California they said 80%

of YSAs in California were inactive and did a big rescue effort. These numbers came from the church and were part of a YSA conference effort where Elder Ballard came and spoke. People who leave a highly concentrated area and are single tend to go inactive. The number was overall YSAs so, RMs were included.
