I think it's become to homogenized for my tastes. In my day you got a nice cross section of LDS students. These days you mostly get academic elite. That's great but the vibe isn't the same.

Along with trying to become academically elite comes other challenges. One of those is continuing success in sports. Frankly it's healthy for the LDS athlete to have more options than just BYU. One of those is Utah. Plenty of great LDS kids have come out of KWhitt's program. It's not exactly the same but you can have a decent LDS experience at the U while getting to play P5 ball.
