Not at all. There is so much wasted spending at the state level that could
easily be directed at teacher's salaries, but also, the school system should be responsible for some of this as well.

Where I live each HS student was recently given a laptop. Based on my observation, this has been a disaster as students spend their time on youtube or other channels during class. They have figured out how to unblock sites that the school tries to block. Spending like this.....2,500 laptops at $400/each (just a guess) is about $1M that could have been allocated to raises or more staff. Standardized test scores have not gone up since the change to laptops.....not sure what the real benefit has been.
