In our age of knowlege and free information, the cost of obtaining knolwedge has decrease to a fraction of its former cost.  Teachers aren't paid for their knowledge.  The knowledge is freely available.  One reason cost os Ed should be going down, not up.  And a reason the demand for teachers should be goind down. Computers and video and audio lectures can replace most of what teachers do.
