I always shut down when the “BYU has nothing to play for” comment jumps out.
Even as a kid I never cared about conference championships. It has always been the next opponent, top 25, and a shot at an NC. We go back to G5 2018 that last one is likely gone forever.
I’ve said this a million times and I don’t know how else to see it: BYU has a great brand. Look at the national love we got when we were 3-1. The time is not right to slink back to a G5. That time may come but we’re looking at 2023 at the earliest. A lot can and will happen between then. It will be mostly good. Patience.
