Do you believe that Indy schedules, plus the Wisconsin/Stanford model and the right coaching staff can actually ever put us in legitimate playoff contention in the future? Put it this way, can we get good enough to win 10+ games for a few years with these schedules, with an undefeated or near-undefeated season thrown in at the end? If you think that is possible, stay independent and wait for things to shake out. If you are indy and playing these kind of schedules and winning, you will get a shot at the playoff. If you are in a G5 you will never get a shot. ever. And for me, one chance at the playoff (if you think it is possible) is worth lots of years without a conference title. I think.
