From the perspective of attracting and keeping a larger swath of Americans in
soccer, that would be beneficial because it would give us an even larger pool. And if that many American boys were attracted to staying with soccer, it would mean the sport was more a part of mainstream culture, which would nourish elite youth player development. But NOT because players with superior raw athletic ability of the sort required for American football and basketball would choose soccer. They give nothing over Christian Pulisic and Josh Sargent.

"Best athletes" argument is still bogus.
