Stories of firings are also okay.
When I was at BYU I worked as a legal assistant for a software company. Just before my last semester I was laid off. I had worked at the software company almost three years, so it was a pretty big blow. I was paid well (for a student) and I had plenty of flexibility with my hours. I decided to take a job for BYU Grounds. I drove a sidewalk sweeper for about a month. When I was hired they were sure I knew that when it snows EVERYONE is required to get to campus very early in the morning and shovel sidewalks. No exceptions. Low and behold, It's late October/early November and I get a phone call around 4 AM telling me it's snowing and asking me to get to campus to shovel sidewalks. It was college - so I had gone to bed maybe an hour or two earlier. I responded with, "That's okay. I quit." I hung up the phone and went back to bed.
