mission language (for me it was Portuguese). The research department did this for multiple languages to ascertain how adjustments to their curriculum were affecting the learning of the missionaries (e.g. shortening the weeks missionaries spent in the MTC).
It was an easy part time job where I could go in whenever I wanted to make a little extra money, never had to report to anyone. Worked there for a year or two before moving away from Utah for grad school, and I emailed whoever oversaw the research department to let her know I was moving away. Maybe a year later I get a call from the MTC letting me know I was being let go as they no longer needed my services. I told the girl on the line I had already quit a while ago, and she sounded noticeably relieved that I wasn’t upset or distraught.
