Still can't believe I was fired for this 25 years ago still blows my mind...
My wife and I were young married and very poor, If I remember correctly my wife was even pregnant at the time. I was a full time student and worked a part time job. My wife worked full time. To make ends meet we took an evening job as janitors working at a little LDS Mom & Pop business (Like Janiking) that had various contracts. We were assigned building that housed various Governmental agencies that facilitated Job Skills. Dept of Economic Services etc. They had a couple of rooms for GED & ESL classes etc. This particular room they were always leaving notes that we had missed cleaning something. They were super picky... (I had experience as a BYU Janitor for horrendous semester, Job wasn't bad, it was the 4 AM start work time as an irresponsible Freshman college student that killed me.)

One night the GED instructor left a post it note on the white board giving very specific directions because there had a been a party and the floor was a mess.

the note said something like this. "Please vacume the floor, the room wasnt cleaned properly..." So I cleaned the room but just couldn't leave such glaring mistakes on the post it note alone... So in my best English Correction Notation I added in the ^SIC Vacuum and ^' for wasn't. (SIC spelling incorrect)
We got a call from the bosses the next day saying the client didn't appreciate our note and asked for us not to be allowed back...

So we were let go. The LDS couple felt bad for us and knew the client was a pain and they usually would come by and do walk-throughs and we always received great reports. They called us back in a couple of weeks and gave us a bigger building (A Farm Bureau Office building) with more hours that really helped us out.

To this day i can't believe I was fired for correcting an "educator" You would think that a teacher would be too embarrassed, to admit that mistake and then drive the whining up the chain to have a Janitor fired and let everyone know she couldn't spell... Apparently she was an early adopter of the offended by everything movement...
