I told an employer that I was planning to leave to pursue an MBA. The company
had a round of layoffs coming, but they wouldn't affect my department. My boss requested that I be included in the layoff, so I got to leave with 6 weeks of pay, despite the fact that I was leaving anyway.

My wife was bored with her job, so she went and found a different job and put in 2 weeks notice at her old job.
