Cosmetics turns out to be. In my clinic, patients are loyally are coming back every few months because they are openly pleased with their results. Some are bringing friends with them. My preceptor doesn't have the cahonies to tell them to stop, especially when he's making big money off them. This isn't a medical issue, it's a culture thing. I recognize I'm seeing only one of thousands of cosmetic offices in the nation. I'm sure it's different in other offices. I believe I'm in one, however, where the culture follows the more is better model. Once again, I don't mean to generalized this to all of plastics/cosmetics. I believe I'm just seeing what can happen when you have patients with bottomless wallets, a skewed culture, and no one telling them to stop. This is the worst of what cosmetics/plastics has to offer.
