Similar experience. Signed up to assist coach, he had heart attack. Suddenly,

with no experience I had to do it all. Luckily, it was a pre-text time (and no, we didn't ride dinosaurs) and abuse was regulated to game time, but it was a struggle because I had only played one year of Little League and the rest was from learning neighborhood baseball. I believe parents were more mellow then and it was a good experience, but I never did it again.
