My wife and I had a somewhat similar decision to make when we were choosing a healthcare specialty for me to pursue. I wanted to take the path with higher risk/higher reward. I made a comprehensive pros and cons list and we sat down and talked about it. I didn't tell her which way I was leaning and asked her which one she thinks I should do. She said all things equal she wanted the harder route because it sounded more exciting/challenging and we had worked hard enough to get to where we were that we mine as well leave it all out on the field. We came up with an absolute worst case scenario and decided that we would be OK if it came to that. Since then we haven't looked back. If my wife wasn't on board there wouldn't have been a decision to make because it would have been impossible without her 100% support.

So I guess my answer a question: how bad do you really want the other job/money? Could you marriage handle the WORST case scenario? If not, it's not then there's no way I would even consider it.... But you only live once and if your wife is 100% on board then I'd let it rip.
