We have a similar deal going on right now for us. Last summer we were in an auto
accident (not our fault). My wife, who was pregnant at the time, was told by her doctor to go to the ER to get checked out just to make sure the fetus was still OK and not impacted by the accident (thankfully everything was fine).

Anyways, we provided the auto insurance information to the hospital and provided the hospital information to the insurance.

Long story short, the insurance paid the negotiated rate for the hospital charges and the hospital called it good. They also paid the negotiated rate for the ER Doctor charges. The Emergency Doctors Group (or whatever they are called) then has proceeded to bill us for the remaining balance.

We talked to the insurance company who told us we should not be liable for any other charges and to send them a copy of the bill so they can settle it with the doctors. We then talked to the physician office who said they must've processed the network wrong and they'd get with the insurance company to sort it out.

In the end, guess who is still getting bills for thebremaining $500?
