If any P5 wanted to join they knew there was a welcome mat. If they wanted they could even submit an offer but reality is nobody wants to take a pay cut to join an unstable conference.
No board of regents except possibly Nebraska would even consider a $15M a year pay cut to simply be happy in a unstable conference. What reasoning would possibly support a decision to avoid removal?
The only P5 conference members that would benefit would be PAC12 but very minimal pay bump. It would be messy and then they would be playing far away from their recruiting base west coast to gain a very competitive Texas ground.
It’s just a waste of time and will hurt their brand.
They need to face reality their the old maid and they’re not getting younger. They have to choose to die or fight to survive.
