that 4 and 5 star recruits are sure fire NFL talent but the odds are higher that they will be NFL talent vs a 2 or 3 star. And we didn't say that they will be "starters" in the NFL or start in a Super Bowl. You're grasping at straws to fit your narrative.
Here are some stats for you: "From 2000-14, there were 522 five-star recruits, with 53 percent of them eventually drafted.
That is significantly higher than other star rankings in a recent draft, which saw four-stars drafted at a 20 percent clip, three-stars at 6 percent, and two-stars 3 percent."
This is why Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson etc do not recruit 2 star players. You can't win championships consistently in college football year in and year out without the top rated talent. Alabama and Clemson have proven that. They only recruit 5 star, 4 star players and they will recruit 3 star recruits if they believe they are diamonds in the rough. Those top tier programs win championships regularly with their 4 and 5 star recruits at the college level and they put out NFL players much more frequently than other schools.
