I don’t buy it, it makes no sense
Kalani wants to coach at BYU more than anything.
BYU is not cheap on anything, this may have been their reputation in the past, but not the last 5-10 years. They are always upgrading facilities, scoreboards, etc. and always do it top notch.
BYU has donors that will help them pay whatever is necessary within the confines of reason.
No way BYU goes to the Big12 with a new coach.
Kalani may interview for other jobs or fail to say exactly what the fans want to hear, but this is all part of negotiating.
