Not only can and likely we would step up on resources now that we have the Big 12 thing, but also some seem to not
factor in anything but top line numbers. It's like they see $6 million is > $3 million, you'd be crazy to pass it up. That's myopic and stupid analysis.

You factor in costs. You factor in stability. You factor in the present value of expected future cash flows discounted for the risk of those case flows (yes most wouldn't do that explicitly but you would factor in the thought...hmmm...how long have the most recent X number of coaches averaged at destination Y? Oh, 3 years? Hmmm. $3 million plus expected raises for the next 20 years is greater than 3 years of $6 million followed by appearing to be damaged goods if it doesn't work out...which it hasn't at destination Y for the most recent X numbers of coaches).

USC since Pete Carroll has gone through: Kiffin, Sark, and Helton (plus three interim coaches).

Factor in that your family likes where you are. That moving young kids isn't always great for them. That you are integrated into a community that is great for raising those kids. That you already have more money than you know what to do with. That kids came to the school you love and attended growing up because of you. That you currently live around family and friends from decades of history. That you coach for the school you grew up loving. The school you played for. The school you always wanted to coach for.

Never say never, but it isn't as simple as more money equals easy decision.
