It frustrates many on this board (including myself) that BYU's selectivity is largely a factor of high Mormon demand rather than any objectively excellent academic attribute. BYU isn't a leader in any field (except in certain vocational areas like accounting, which academic powers typically consider beneath their notice). There are programs at Utah and even Utah State that put BYU to shame, and that's not easy to take.
It's also disappointing that many BYU undergrads have to go to out of state (or to the UofU if they want to stay in-state) for a number of graduate programs. Perhaps that's BYU working as designed (i.e.: the BOT thinks it's a good thing if BYU is sending students across the US to grad schools) but it is worth pointing out.
