Hard to believe that kids 3 and 2 need to be in monitory school/ daycare if both
Parents are working and at least one of them has a college education(student loans).
Seems like it would be easy for someone with a degree to make at least $70k right now. May without a degree can earn at least $40k right now. If one parent can find a way to increase their income to $70k the other parent can stay home with the kids and eliminate the daycare cost. Or the other option is for the other parent to get a job earning more as well. Either option can be good. Depends on the parents as to what makes more sense.
I think inflation is huge problem though. It is pushing middle class families down and even upper middle class families down to middle class. It makes it harder to get ahead, but I don’t think it is as dire as many make it out to be.

Naw, I got my son's Hyundai for 8k just recently, under 100k miles. This family could cut a lot more.
