Not sure how much harder this is than 30 years ago. I remember at that stage
having 1 car and saving up up a month just to take the kids to McDonald's and still wondering how to make ends meet.
I see my son going through the exact same struggles today. Nobody says it's easy, but if you are strict about spending (e.g., cut out your lattes, premium channels & apps, rarely eat out), work extra hard to get ahead at work, things will fall into place.

Naw, I got my son's Hyundai for 8k just recently, under 100k miles. This family could cut a lot more.
