Something isn’t adding up in this example. My guess is that the car dealership offers no healthcare benefits, so the income earned isn’t the same as if it offered better benefits. The car dealership likely has terrible hours as well.
Student loan debt, but making barely $20 per hour each? Why do both work and send kids to daycare?
One of them needs to get a higher paying job, or quit and work at Starbucks working nights and weekends. Get rid of a car as Starbucks should be in walking/biking distance. Then the kids don’t need child care, and Starbucks offers healthcare.
Alternatively, one of them needs to get a government job with great healthcare benefits. Being a teachers aide would be better than internet car sales. Again, teachers aide could be within walking distance, making the “low” income better as it costs less when you don’t have to commute to work.
