We called Animal Control (informing the neighbor beforehand as a courtesy). They eventually sent out an officer to take a report. My wife went to Urgent Care to get her wounds addressed and is now on antibiotics as a precaution. Good to get everything medically documented.

Also, turns out one of our home security cameras recorded the incident. Audio on the conversation is a bit garbled, but the video clearly shows my wife standing 10+ feet from the porch calmly saying goodbye to the neighbor, then the dog comes flying in to attack.

Watching the video still gets my heart racing with a combination of fear and anger that it could have been worse or if it had been a child...

On a positive note, I'm crazy proud of how calm my wife was after the ordeal (granted she was rage-screaming during the attack). After it was over, she calmly walked back to our house assessing her wounds. Kind of a "cool guys don't look at explosions" moment but in real life.

She even comforted the distraught neighbor who came over to apologize later. She is one tough cookie.
