Where do you get this baloney? Your long diatribe is not supported by any evidence. The amount of research performed at Utah is so far ahead of BYU that the two are barely comparable. In 2009, the last year I could find data for, BYU brought in $25 million in federal research dollars and ranked 238 in the country. By comparison the U of U brought in $340 million and ranked 52nd.

What think tank, besides cougarboard, says that BYU does a comparable level of research?

By any metric not named US News and World Report the U of U is so far ahead of BYU that most don't even consider them peer institutions.
